In the 35th match of the IPL2020 tournament, KKR beat SRH in the Super Over. The captain of the SRH team, David Warner, made 47 runs in only 33 balls and pushed the contest against KKR to a Super Over.

Abdul Samad hammered 23 runs in only 15 balls and was caught by Shubman Gill and Lockie Ferguson. Pat Cummins got a wicket and Vijay Shankar sliced one. Manish Pandey was out due to a yorker bowled by Lockie Ferguson. Lockie Ferguson was playing his very first match in seven months.

Lockie Ferguson setting a Super-over win:

In the space of only 3 balls, Ferguson managed to remove the off stump of David Warner and also hit the base of the middle stump of Abdul Samad. This was done with the help of a slow delivery with only a coupe of runs allowed in between,

The two leg-byes off the pads of Dinesh Karthik and only a singe by Eoin Morgan, gave the KKR team two points from the 3rd Super Over of this season. This ensures their fourth place in the points table.

Earlier, Ferguson had punctured the chase of the SRH team of 164 runs with an amazing spell of fast bowling. This bowling did not allow them a single boundary.

In the 18th over, Ferguson allowed only 7 runs. At that time, the SRH team needed 37 runs from 18 balls. ShivamMavi was targeted by Samad and Warner when the requirement was 30 runs from 12 balls.

Williamson experiment by the SRH:

The SRH had to change their line-up due to a slow start, a middle-order that was inexperienced and also because Warner was not at his best.

Williamson took charge of the top. He was carrying a niggle due to a hamstring. He hit consecutive fours due to his fluent stroke play.

Bairstow managed to muscle Varun Chakravarthy off the back foot. This duo also attacked Pat Cummins and Russell together, and finished the sixth over on 58. The 46 of this 58 was due to boundaries. This was the 4th consecutive power play of the KKR sans any wicket.

Ferguson came in the 7th over. Garg was unable to last more than 7 balls as the slow delivery of Ferguson rammed into the stumps.

Warner not seen:

As known, Warner has been struggling in this tournament of the IPL2020. He was spared in the first ball bowled by Kuldeep Yadav as Karthik missed stumping him after a delivery that was loopy. Warner was seen relying on one’s and twos. Ferguson managed to remove Manish Pandey.

After 19 overs, the KKR team was 147 for 4. Morgan was on 18 runs off 17 balls and Karthik was 29 runs on 14 balls. Morgan faced the last over from Thampi. Thampi kept missing his yorkers. Morgan was able to hit him down, and smash him over the square leg for 6 and also run three doubles.
