Senior Star requests the BCCI to reduce the period of Quarantine for England’ Australia Players

Australia Players

Players from England and Australia, who are heading towards UAE for the IPL matches, have requested the BCCI to reduce the quarantine period. This quarantine period is set for six days. They have requested for three-day quarantine so that they are available from the start of the said tournament.

21 players who are a part of the England-Australia white ball streak are supposed to board a chartered flight to Dubai from Manchester. This will touch base on the 17th of September 2020. They will be available only on the 23rd of September. The IPL tournament is starting on the 19th of September 2020.

The teams are desperate not to miss out on the exciting tournament and thus, a superstar called up Saurav Ganguly, who is the President of the BCCI, on behalf of the selected team from both sides. They wish to be quarantined for only three days.

A senior IPL player has admitted to receiving this request from a senior player.

There was no comment from Ganguly, who is, at present, in the United Arab Emirates, with board members, and is overseeing the preparations of the tournament.

The players feel that they are following the bio-bubble norms, first in Australia and then in the UK, therefore it makes complete sense that they are allowed to enter from one bio-bubble to another as they have not been in contact with the outside world.

They stayed in Hilton, in Southampton and also Manchester. This is a part of the stadium. All the players have undergone tests every five days and also on the day they leave UK they will be tested besides on the first and also the third day of the arrival.

The security bubble that is created by the ECB, does not allow even cleaning of the rooms of the players. Besides which, they take a non-commercial, chartered flight.

The IPL official said they were right when they talk of going from one bio-bubble to another. There was no comment on whether this request would be granted.

Kolkata Knight Riders are the only franchise that will not be affected in any way by the six-day quarantine. This is due to the fact that this team will be opening their campaign against the Mumbai Indians on the 23rd of September 2020.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has players like Eoin Morgan, Tom Banton, and also Pat Cummins on the roster with two of them being in the first X1.

If Jos Butler, Jofra Archer and Steve Smith are not available during the opener, the Rajasthan Royals will definitely get affected. Ben Stokes is already out of the first half of the tournament due to his father’s illness.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be missing out on David Warner, who is their skipper, and the opening partner, Jonny Bairstow, might not be available for one game.

The first team players Sam Curran and Josh Hazelwood will not be able to play for Chennai Super Kings in the opening 2 games if the rule of six-day quarantine is followed.
