The U.S. honored the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that happened in 2001. Several netizens took to various social media handles to pay their tribute to the victims of the vicious attack. On a day that people the world over will never forget, almost 3000 people were killed in the terror attacks of September 11. Apart from the casualties, more than 6000 people were injured in New York as well as Washington DC. The attack also saw the destruction of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.
A lot of celebrities also paid their tributes to the victims who lost their lives in the attacks. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who lives in Los Angeles after marrying American singe,r Nick Jonas, also took to Instagram, posting messages of tribute to the victims of the horrific attack. Along with a graphic image in the background, Priyanka shared a short message saying “Never Forget”. The image showed the Twin Towers in black with a pink background. The actress is active on social media and frequently takes to her handles to share her opinions on various incidents.
Priyanka remains well informed and clued into the world of politics too. Showing elation when California senator Kamala Harris was selected to be the running mate of Joe Biden, US Democratic presidential candidate, Priyanka had written that this was a transformational, proud, and historical moment for women. The actress had also congratulated Kamala Harris on becoming the first Black woman and first person of Indian descent to get a party’s ticket to compete. She had also stated that racism needs to end all over the world. The actress, praying for the victim’s family, had also provided information about a petition to be signed in support of Floyd.
Priyanka had also volunteered to be a part of the iFOR India campaign, during the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of celebrities had taken part in this campaign, urging people to donate and raise funds for those whose jobs and homes were affected.
