Chennai Super Kings (CSK) v/s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

Yesterday was a big day for RCB as they won the match against CSK and this win put them ahead of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). This was registered as the biggest win over their rivals from the south. The season of misery never seems to be ending for the CSK. Each passing match seems to give them another jolt in the IPL2020.

The CSK team seemed to have kept a check on the batsmen of Bangalore but only until the last four overs. Virat Kohli teed off in the company of Shivam Dube. On the other hand, Chennai lost their wickets early on. There was a lack of intent in the partnership of N Jagdeesan and Ambati Rayadu and this led to a rise in the asking rate, which turned out to be high above their reach.

Virat Kohli made a well-paced 90runs out of 52 balls while Sundar continued bowling lengths that were unhittable in the powerplay. RCB were able to brush aside their long-time rivals, CSK, in Dubai.

RCB chose to bat on a pitch that was two-paced and saw off the early swing and moved to 103 runs for 4 wickets in 14 overs. Kohli set the platform and from there went on to launch 46 runs of the 66 runs made in the last six overs. The score was 169 for 4 wickets.

Sundar was able to remove Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson after only 26 runs for 2 wickets. This was the lowest score in the powerplay this season.

Dhoni came out to bat in the 15th over and at that time the asking rate was hovering to around 15. IsuruUdana and Chris Morris closed out the game with their cutters. This helped the Royal Challengers to climb to number four in the points table.

Kohli managed his half-century off the 39th ball. He fiercely pulled Thakur to the fence of fine-leg. He, then managed to crack three sixes and one four in the last three overs, taking apart Bravo, Curran, and also Thakur. Curran was rattled and that is the reason he floated two of-side wides in the 18th over. On the other hand, Thakur, in the 19th over, bowled a beamer. In the last over against Bravo, Kohli picked a yorker typical of Bravo, scooped this through the spaces that were vacant at the fine leg for four runs. This was inspite of falling on the floor. He managed to give RCB a strong finish though he was unable to put the variations of Bravo away.

CSK was chasing for the seventh time this season. Rayadu could not find the gaps nor the boundary and be struggling at 42 runs in 40 balls. Jagadeesan, who is the new number 4 of the CSK team, managed to hit fours and turned out to be more fluent in the partnership of 64 runs. He was run out by Morris with a direct hit for 33 at 28 balls.
