Kangana Ranaut resumes Shoot after a gap of Seven Months

Kangana Ranaut has posted on her Instagram account that she has resumed work for one of her most ambitious projects, ‘Thalaivi’ after a gap of 7 months.

This 7-month break was due to the coronavirus pandemic. This Bollywood actress shared her pictures on her Twitter account. She informed her fans that she was traveling to South India for her work.

‘Thalaivi’ is a multi-lingual biographical venture by the director, A. L Vijay. The story is about Jayalalitha’s life. She was a film actress as well as a politician. She served 6 terms as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. This film is being shot in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi simultaneously.

This biopic is written by the writer, KV Vijayendra, who also wrote for movies like ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Baahubali’ along with writer Rajat Arora who wrote movies like ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’.

This movie, ‘Thalaivi’ was scheduled to release on the 26th of June 2020 in theaters. Obviously, this was put on hold due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

In an interview, earlier, Kangana had revealed that this film had been sold to the OTT platform Amazon Primetime and Netflix for a whopping 55 crore. This movie is sold to these platforms in Hindi as well as Tamil.

She added that this movie will not have a direct release online. She stated that ‘Thalaivi’ is a film on a massive scale and thus, cannot be released on digital. She also added that even ‘Manikarnika’ is also a massive film that cannot be released digitally, but movies like ‘Judgemental Hai Kya’ or ‘Panga’ can cater to the digital audience.

A report in a daily stated that in the climax of this movie, Kangana will be seen getting out of the Legislative assembly as a huge crowd awaits her. The makers of this film want to film this sequence with 350 people. According to the guidelines of the government, only 33 percent of the original crew is allowed. The makers wanted to shoot the remaining part of the movie in a schedule that fits start-to-finish and thus, the shooting was delayed.

During the lockdown, the daily wage workers of this movie suffered a lot. Kangana had donated around 5 lakhs to the FEFSI UNION (Film Employees Federation of South India) and another 5 lakhs separately to the daily workers for the movie ‘Thalaivi’.

As known, this very talented actress of Bollywood has won three National Film Awards along with four Filmfare Awards. She has, also, featured in Forbes India list of 100 celebrities six times. In the year, 2020 she was honored with the Padma Shree by the government of India.

Kangana is credited as one of the most fashionable celebrities by the media. She has also launched her very own clothing lines for ‘Vero Moda’. Her open-minded comments and expression of opinions have landed her in many controversies. You can say she is a self-made strong woman who can call a spade  ‘a spade’ and fight for this.
