Cinemas to Re-open finally

The government of India has finally announced that cinema; theaters will be allowed to re-open from the 15th of October. The lockdown and the pandemic have not only affected the common man but has impacted the entertainment industry to a great extent. This decision of opening up the cinema has been hailed not only by the film fraternity but also by the fans.

The Union Home Ministry announced that cinemas, theaters, and also drive-in will be allowed to open up with a seating capacity of 50 percent.

All the states are not opened up so before allowing the cinemas to open up it is important to wait for these states to open up. These states include Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The movies, ‘83’ and ‘Sooryavanshi’ are all set for release. The movie, ‘Sooryavanshi’ was supposed to release during Diwali but this is not possible yet.

Big films need a lot of promotion and thus, even if the theaters do open up in November it will not be possible to release this movie. This was stated by Shibashish Sarkar, who is the CEO.

‘Sooryavanshi’ of Rohit Shetty, will bring back Akshay Kumar as a cop, and ‘83’ has Ranveer Singh acting like Kapil Dey. This movie has attracted a lot of hype and is eagerly awaited.

Presently, ‘83’ is all set to release in the theaters but then, two big films cannot be released together. At the same time, you cannot hold on to movies indefinitely. It has been planned that one movie will be released during December and the other will be released between January and March.

With the current situation, one thing is clear that none of the bigwigs are inclined towards any sort of clash.

Another big movie in the waiting is ‘Radhe’, which is a Salman Khan starrer. This movie was slated for release during Eid 2020 before the pandemic started. His co-star, Randeep Hooda, had already started dubbing for this movie during the month of September.

There are also some women-oriented films awaiting release but then no one known when this can be planned. They are waiting for all the states to become operational.

Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra yet not declared the opening of date. Maharashtra is a big state so the filmmakers are waiting for the dates of opening eagerly.  They are hoping that by the 7th of November these states will open up fully so that the films can be released.

The President of Marketing, Media, and Publishing (TV), Vinod Bhanushali states that the films, directors, and also the actors are appreciated more if the movie is released in a theater.

He also stated that there are a few movies that are in the post-production mode and these will be released soon, probably in November.

Some of these films are a biopic of Saina Nehwal starring Parineti Chopra and ‘Indu Ki Jawaani’ starring Kiara Advani.

Shariq Patel stated that their banner also had quite a few films that are ready for release.
